Floppy's Phonics

We use a synthetic phonics scheme called Floppy's Phonics. This scheme meets all teaching principles detailed in the English Programmes of Study for Key Stages 1 and 2 within the National Curriuclum and is used to teach phonics and reading in Key Stage 1.

The scheme enables us to systematically teach phonics to our children whilstalso enriching their vocabulary and building their language comprehension through engaging books which feature familiar and much loved characters; Biff, Chip, Kipper and Floppy the dog.

Phonics help and support

Phonics Information Evening.mp4

The above video takes parents through how we deliver and manage the Floppy's Phonics programme in school. It covers how the program is structured, the activities and resources children will use during learning; along with what can be done at home to support children's phonic development. In addition to this resource, we have also produced a handy phonics terminology sheet which be accessed below.
